An action-packed day out is on the way at Banff Castle as the much-loved Blue Light Festival returns on Saturday 16 August from 11:00am to 4:00pm. This popular annual event celebrates the incredible work of the emergency services and is a must for families, community members and visitors of all ages.

Bringing together the Ambulance Service, Fire Brigade, Police, Coastguard, RNLI, Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance and many more, the festival offers thrilling displays, live demonstrations and hands-on activities that give a fascinating look behind the scenes of the vital work these teams do every day.

Scotland’s Charity Air Ambulance will also host three short talks throughout the day about their new Airbus H145 D3 helicopter due to join the Aberdeen base later this year. The new aircraft will have greater range, endurance and capacity, helping SCAA deliver faster and more effective emergency response across Scotland.

There’ll be family-friendly rides, bustling stalls, great food, and loads to see and do, making it a full day out for all ages. Whether you want to meet the crews, climb aboard emergency vehicles, or simply enjoy the buzz and excitement of the day, there’s something for everyone.

“This is one event of several large outdoor events held at the Castle every summer and a fantastic way to say thank you to our emergency services,” said Chairman John Cox of the Banff Castle Community Association. “Holding these large community events also helps increase footfall in the town, benefiting local businesses and supporting the wider community.”

Ticket can be bought at the gate on the day at the gate or in advance via Eventbrite:
