Bon Accord Heritage, the charity restoring Aberdeen’s iconic Bon Accord Baths, has announced its
Festive Fundraiser, raising funds for the project.

Taking place on Saturday 23rd November from 10am-2pm, the event is an opportunity for members of
the public to explore the building, discuss project plans and development with the charity, and have
the last chance to dive into an exclusive exhibition hosted by Robert Gordon University (RGU).

The exhibition, titled ‘Lost + Found. Diving into the future of the Bon Accord Baths’, is the
culmination of more than six months of design studio work of RGU’s third year architecture students.
On Saturday, the public will be treated to performances from local choirs Umbrella A Cappella,

Harbour Voices and Albacapella. They will also be able to pick up some Save Bon Accord Baths
merchandise – including a brand new, sustainably produced wooden bauble. All proceeds support the
project.

The Festive Fundraiser will be the third time that Bon Accord Baths doors have been open to the
public this year following the hugely successful Aberdeen Jazz Festival ‘Soundbath’ event and Open
Day in the summer. Further cementing the importance of the project to the local community, Bon
Accord Baths was announced as one of five chosen charities for the Press & Journal Community Fund
following a public vote.

Commenting on the upcoming Festive Fundraiser, Chairman of Bon Accord Heritage, Bruce Strachan,
said: “We are immensely proud to open the doors to our local community once again to raise funds for
the project. Over the last year, there have been significant advancements in the survey and reporting
stages of the project which will underpin the final restoration works, so we are looking forward to
sharing future plans with attendees on the day.

“Bon Accord Heritage and the Save Bon Accord Baths project are run entirely by volunteers, so
ongoing support from the local community is essential to the continued success of the restoration.”
First opening in 1940, Bon Accord Baths is a category B listed Art Deco swimming pool located on
Justice Mill Lane in Aberdeen city centre.
