CITY residents and businesses potentially affected by flooding are reminded 50% funded grants are available to install flooding property protection.
The grant will only apply for those private homes that meet at least one of the following criteria:
- The property has been internally flooded previously and actual damage has been sustained;
- The property is located on an area in risk of flooding shown on the SEPA flooding maps;
- The property is located on an area in risk of flooding shown on the Integrated Catchment Study Model.
Aberdeen City Council Co-Leader Councillor Ian Yuill said: “Flooding can be devastating for any property whether a home or a business so we would encourage those who meet the criteria to apply for the Property Level Flood Protection Scheme.”
Initially, residents can apply for up to £150 to cover the cost of a survey to determine if property level protection will be suitable for the property as well as the type of protection that could be installed.

Households that meet the criteria will receive a grant of up to 50% of the installation cost of Property Level Protection, up to a maximum of £2,500.
The grants cover for businesses installing property protection for flooding includes 50% of the cost up to a maximum of £5,000 per property over 200m2 ground floor area and 50% of the cost up to a maximum of £2,500 per property less than 200m2 ground floor area.
