Thick fog across the north-east yesterday led to major disruption at Aberdeen Airport, with more than 20 services cancelled and others delayed or diverted.
Flights to and from London, Dublin and Amsterdam are among those affected, with cancellations reported across several carriers including British Airways, Loganair, Aer Lingus and KLM. Eight Heathrow rotations have been scrapped so far, while some services — including a Dublin–Aberdeen flight — have diverted to alternative airports.
An Aberdeen Airport spokesperson said: “There is currently some disruption to services due to heavy fog which has resulted in some delays and cancellations. Passengers are advised to check the status of their flight with their airline.”
Travellers are being urged to monitor airline apps and notifications for the latest rebooking options and departure information whenever there is disruption.
