NHS Grampian is temporarily closing Lady Helen Parking Centre, the multi-storey car park located at the Foresterhill Health Campus, to facilitate essential maintenance work. The closure, which will span a three-day period in September, aims to ensure the ongoing operational integrity of the facility.
The car park, a critical component of the Foresterhill site’s infrastructure, will cease operations from 10pm on Thursday 10th September until 6am on Monday 14th September. All vehicles are required to be removed from the premises prior to the 10pm closure on the 10th September.
Opened in February 2018 and generously funded by The Wood Foundation, the Lady Helen Parking Centre was primarily established to serve patients and visitors to the Foresterhill Health Campus, which includes Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital, and Aberdeen Maternity Hospital.

Its capacity, reportedly around 1,100 spaces, plays a vital role in managing the significant parking demand at the busy health campus.
During the maintenance period, NHS Grampian advised individuals attending appointments or visiting the campus to arrange alternative methods of transport, anticipating that other car parks on the site would experience increased usage and be “busier than usual.”
The health board also issued reminders regarding critical parking regulations across the campus. Drivers were instructed to refrain from parking on double yellow lines or hatched areas, to utilise Blue Badge spaces exclusively if they possess a valid Blue Badge, and to keep ambulance access routes clear for emergency operational use.
