Former oil & gas manager offers fresh approach to estate agency

03/05/2017

Ex-Oil & Gas employee, Joy Komolafe has launched the Open House estate agent franchise in the Aberdeen area after working in projects and planning roles with the likes of GE Oil & Gas and Subsea 7.

She was motivated to take up the challenge after receiving poor service with her own properties in the past, which has led her to look for a fully personalised agency with dedicated agents.

“I approached Open House because they were one of the only estate agents that would allow me to be a local business in Aberdeen but still have the resources and strength of a national estate agent. I knew the struggles of landlords from personal experience. Landlords want to be kept informed, they want support throughout the process of putting their house on the market up to the point of leasing the house to a tenant and managing the property after that. With Open House, I offer property sales, property leasing and property management.”

Open House Aberdeen is a flexible and fully personalised service in the estate agent market. It is a highly competitive option for anyone renting, letting, buying or selling a house in and around Aberdeen.

Along with her passion for solving the problem of impersonal service in the traditional estate agent market, Joy’s project management background and owning her own properties provides a strong foundation for making Open House in Aberdeen a success.

“Over the last few years, I have run my own buy-to- let venture by buying run down houses, renovating them and renting them out. My experience of dealing with traditional estate agents was often frustrating. Each phone call meant I was dealing with a different person from the last time. Being a busy working mother, it was not always possible to make the call by 5pm which was when the estate agent closed for the day!”
