AN Aberdeen-based oil and gas duo who joined forces to launch a new venture to keep business premises free of Covid-19 have already expanded to cover Dundee and Inverness.

Subsea engineer Ewan Robson and his new business partner, who is winding down his job in the oil and gas industry so does not wish to be named, set up specialist fogging company ViraClear after seeing a gap in the market during the early stages of the coronavirus pandemic.

Fogging is where you apply a chemical disinfectant as a fog or mist to an area in order to combat bacteria and viruses, including Covid-19.

The entrepreneurial duo at ViraClear have invested in fogging machines with disinfectants that have been laboratory tested to international standards and are proven to kill Covid-19 on contact for at least seven days.

Several north-east firms have already undergone the treatment, including Meldrum House Country Hotel and Carnegie Fuels.

Mr Robson said: “We’re also about to start selling a brand-new hand sanitising liquid that lasts for 24-hours even after hand-washing, which we know will prove popular and economic during this time.”

They hope to employ a further 10 staff in the future.
