In Case You Missed it:

As usual, there will be a variety of rides for the younger element, a multitude of stalls including refreshments, Granite City Roller Derby, North East Remote Control, Wrestlezone Scotland and the FODP charity for 2025 We Too!. A large selection of stalls will be in attendance, and Spike the talking cactus will be chatting to visitors throughout the afternoon at his house in the Winter Gardens.
A Friends spokesperson commented, “Touch wood, we’re normally very lucky with the weather and last year more than 10,000 visitors attended our Open Day. All the money raised by the Friends is reinvested in the park which is one of the north east’s best loved attractions and over the past year we’ve funded a makeover for Spike, new fencing for the community garden, refurbished the sound system in the sunken area within the Winter Gardens and hosted a reception for the park’s invaluable volunteers.”
