THE vacant Bank of Scotland branch situated on Aberdeen’s Union Street might be revived as a trendy kebab eatery. Titled Canada House, the building at 201 Union Street has a rich history, originating in the late 19th century as a home for the North of Scotland Canadian Mortgage Company.

The Bank of Scotland announced its shutdown in 2022, and the building has been vacant for roughly two years.

At present, Sanaland Ltd is requesting authorisation to revive it following its sale. The property company has submitted plans to Aberdeen City Council detailing the transformation of the B-listed bank into a dining establishment.
