A fresh batch of four high energy, blockbuster shows guaranteed to leave audiences with a spring in their step have been announced for His Majesty’s Theatre.

There will be fun for the whole family with classic musical Annie from Tuesday, November 3 to Sunday November 8 2026, while love will be in the air with fan favourite Dirty Dancing from Tuesday February 2 to Saturday, February 6, 2027 and a daft Doric twist on a much-loved film with the much-anticipated 2026 student show, Cove Actually from Wednesday April 22 to Saturday, April 25.

Comedy ballet company Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo visits from Friday, June 19 to Saturday, June 20 2026, promising to bring a fresh, fun and flawless take on ballet classics as part of the UK Dance Consortium.

Aberdeen Performing Arts Director of Programming and Creative Projects, Ben Torrie, said: “These shows are all high energy, wonderfully fun shows and will all bring their own unique spirit to His Majesty’s Theatre.

Annie is one of the most successful musicals of all time, while Dirty Dancing has reached cult status with its legions of fans.

“The Student Show is always a highlight of the year at HMT, and this new title will be no different – we can’t wait to see what they have in store!

“We are incredibly excited about Les Ballets Trockadero, who excel at sending up our favourite classical ballets while also paying homage to the greats in their own marvellous way – not to be missed!”

The smash-hit West End production of Annie, the world’s favourite family musical, comes to His Majesty’s in November 2026.

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage. Her luck soon changes when she’s chosen to spend a fairytale Christmas with famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks. Meanwhile, spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search for her true family.

With its Tony® award-winning book and score, including the unforgettable songs It’s The Hard-Knock Life, Easy Street, I Don’t Need Anything But You and Tomorrow, you can bet your bottom dollar that you’ll love it.

Seen by millions across the globe worldwide smash hit Dirty Dancing tells the classic story of Baby and Johnny, two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds, who come together in what will be the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives.

See the hit film come to life before your eyes with this fantastic, emotional and triumphant live stage show.

Aiberdeen Student Show is back for anither year, wi’ a Scots Language Award in i’bag, ready to bring yis a’ the ultimate romantic comedy! But it’s nae jist aboot romantic love, ye ken – expect stories featurin’ best pals, faimilies, die-hard fitbaa fans, an’ a’hin in between.
And fit div they a’ hae in common? Their love fir the granite city itsel’. Though that doesna mean we winna poke fun at it an’a, ken?! We widna be Aiberdonians itherwise!
‘Es really will be a love letter tae oor city an’ a’ its landmarks, legends and lore. Though this year, it’s a’ aboot Cove, Actually!

For 50 years, the all-male comedy ballet company Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (affectionately known as “The Trocks”) has been delighting audiences of all ages at sell-out performances featuring their fabulous sense of fun and their flawless dancing.

Originally from New York, the Trocks are now loved world-wide for their sassy spoofs and hilarious homages to classical ballet, where the dancers each transform into two personas, both ballerina and danseur!

Every performance frivolously froths with tutus and testosterone, blush-pink ballet pumps, fierce false eyelashes and prima ballerina attitude. However, what makes this company extraordinarily special is their immaculate technique and daring physicality, surpassed only by their impeccable comic timing.

Tickets for all of the above shows are on sale to Friends of Aberdeen Performing Arts on Wednesday, October 8 and on general sale on Thursday, October 9, available from www.aberdeenperformingarts.com, phone (01224) 641122 or visit the box office at His Majesty’s Theatre or the Music Hall.
