Every year, GEF provides essential food packages to over 450 children and their families in Kenya, offering vital relief to those struggling to afford basic supplies. This winter, their Food Donation Campaign aims to supply each child and their family with wheat flour, maize flour, cooking oil, rice, sugar, salt, and washing soap. GEF hopes to raise over £2000 to deliver these packages before Christmas Day, at a cost of £4.44 per child.

Christmas Fayre

GEF will host a Christmas Fayre at the Village Hotel in Kingswells on Sunday, 26th November, from 12-3pm. The event is free to enter, offering visitors a chance to explore stalls from local businesses, enjoy seasonal treats, and find unique Christmas gifts.

Charitable Christmas Cards

The foundation has a selection of specially-designed charitable Christmas cards available for purchase, along with the option for a Christmas card donation for those who prefer not to send physical cards.

12 Days 12 Futures Initiative

12 Days 12 Futures Initiative

GEF’s ’12 Days 12 Futures’ campaign aims to help children in need by sharing powerful words from children in Kenya, with the hope of finding sponsors for each child. Since 2015, 96 children’s lives have been transformed through this initiative, with funds raised supporting children facing challenges such as being out of school, lack of food, and extreme poverty.

The Lion King Screening at Vue Cinema Aberdeen

GEF is offering a unique fundraising opportunity by hosting a screening of Disney’s The Lion King on Sunday, 18th February 2024, at Vue Cinema, Shiprow, Aberdeen. Ticket proceeds from the event will cover five children’s primary school fees for one year.

Gathimba Edwards Foundation, established in 2014, aims to provide disadvantaged children in Kenya with genuine opportunities in life. Through various initiatives, sponsorships, and donations, the charity has supported 622 children and constructed over 50 new homes. The foundation also initiated the Neil Jaffrey Initiative, raising £37,000 to aid children living with disabilities across Scotland.
