Global Crane Services, one of the country’s leading crane hire specialists operating out of four strategically-located depots in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Dunloy and Invergordon, has significantly enhanced its lifting capabilities with the addition of two state-of-the-art Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes. The cranes will both come fitted with bespoke elevated cabs, with the first to be delivered to the company’s Aberdeen base in late April, with a second joining in June of this year.

A key feature of the new cranes is their elevated operating cab, which provides operators with improved visibility and control—making it particularly well-suited for quayside and port-side operations where enhanced hold view is beneficial. This enhanced vantage point allows for safer and more efficient handling of loads in complex environments. These latest additions will not only strengthen the Global Cranes fleet but will also enhance the current elevated cab range availability to the company’s client base.

After a recent factory visit to Liebherr factory in Ehingen, Global Crane Services will take delivery of the first of the two bespoke cranes. Talking about what they will bring to the company’s already extensive fleet, Gordon Harper, General Manager, said:

“The latest additions are part of our continuous drive to strengthen our fleet with this multi-million pound investment enhancing our already sector-leading lifting capabilities. The two new Liebherr LTM 1250-5.1 mobile cranes will be fitted with bespoke elevated cabs, boasting excellent quayside capabilities. This enhanced vantage point allows for safer and more efficient handling of loads in complex environments where precision and awareness are critical.

“As well as quayside, we also expect the new cranes to be deployed for renewable energy infrastructure and construction scopes. Global Crane Services continues to invest in modern, high-performance equipment to meet the evolving needs of its customers.”
