Earlier this year the firm acquired Magma Products Ltd, a specialist commissioning and start-up company.  Prior to that they were involved in the acquisition of Apollo Engineering to strengthen their capabilities in the brownfield modifications arena.

Global E&C’s last year took over Aiken Group who provide multi-disciplinary engineering and project management services, specialising in modules, accommodation and refrigeration.

Global E&C, whose parent is Inverness and Aberdeen-based Global Energy Group, has now shifted its corporate headquarters to Albyn Place, Aberdeen, where its projects and engineering teams will be located along with a dedicated technology hub.

All of the company’s fabrication facilities have also been consolidated to the Nord Centre, where Aiken is also located.

Mr Allan said: ‘The context in which we operate is moving faster than any of us have ever experienced.   As a business we need to adapt to market changes in order to remain relevant and maintain our progressive market position in the EPC space.

“There remains a lot of uncertainty in the oil & gas industry which now needs to reinvent itself in many respects in order to extend the life of fields in the UKCS.

“Our roots are firmly in Scotland and as part of our commitment to the region we have invested in new city centre facilities and enabling technologies.  The move allows us to be closer to many of our key customers and marks a key milestone in our digital objectives which will be driven from our flagship  “Challenge Centre” – a space focussed on driving new digitally led ways of working.’

“Our dynamic culture, which stems from our entrepreneurial heritage, means we can adapt quickly.  Over the last 24 months, the business has undergone transformational change as a leading EPC contractor in the UK North Sea.

“We feel that we are positioned very well to support the UK energy market as it transitions over the coming years where we must strike the balance between driving down cost for existing offshore assets, accelerating our energy transition objectives and utilising value added technologies across all areas.”
