Formerly serving as COO, Rasmussen has been instrumental in Global Gravity’s success concerning its patented TubeLock system for handling offshore pipes, casing, and tubing, substantially increasing revenue and broadening its global footprint.

In 2021, Global Gravity, expanded its focus on the oil and gas activities in the North Sea by opening a new office and warehouse in Altens Industrial Estate in Aberdeen.

Rasmussen has been pivotal in this process, fostering awareness of the patented TubeLock system, which debuted in 2010 as the world’s first “Tubular Transport Running System” (TTRS). The system transforms offshore pipe handling by enhancing safety, efficiency, and space utilisation.

“This appointment is a great honour and a recognition of the remarkable progress our team has made,” says Tom Rasmussen.

“Since joining the company six years ago, we’ve grown revenue sixfold. TubeLock has demonstrated its value for our clients by optimising pipe handling whilst simultaneously saving money and reducing CO2 emissions.

The results speak for themselves; today, many customers seek us out for collaboration rather than the other way round”.

To meet growing demand, Global Gravity has invested heavily in expanding the capacity of TubeLock modules, with more than 5,000 units now available for hire.

Founder continues as chairman of the board

Rasmussen succeeds Kenneth Hagelskjær, founder of Global Gravity, who will continue as the chairman of a newly established board of directors.

Moving forward, Hagelskjær will dedicate his focus to developing Engineered Market Solutions (EMS), a sister company providing engineering, production, and services for the energy industry, including wind, oil/gas, and Power-to-X technologies.

“We are expanding Global Gravity’s presence in multiple markets around the world, a challenge that demands full-time leadership,” said Kenneth Hagelskjær.

“I am confident Tom is the right person to lead the company forward. Tom has the experience, vision, and leadership skills to maximise Global Gravity’s potential, enabling me to dedicate my efforts fully towards EMS”.

The leadership changes will also see Jacob Gehlert, currently HR manager at EMS, join the new board of directors.
