Companies across the logistics industry, including transport and freight firms, arefeeling the pressure with an increasing burden of sustainability data management and reporting including compliance requirements.
The Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR), the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), and the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) are just some of the standards that require 100s of hours to collect and process data. Costs are also high. Estimated annual costs for compliance with CBAM alone could be as much as £400,000 for large enterprises.
Ripple’s easy-to-use AI platform automates compliance and sustainability data management tasks saving up to 90% of the time it usually takes to manually input data, track compliance and create regulatory-aligned reports.
Commenting on the partnership, Adrian Smith, Ripple’s co-founder, and CEO said: “We are excited to partner with Grampian Continental. Grampian is a great example of a forward-thinking logistics business striving to do more in the sustainability space and leveraging technology to help.
“We know that companies in the transport and logistics sector face increasing burdens both in time and costs from managing energy usage, quality compliance and sustainability reporting. Ripple reduces these pressures to help these companies focus on growth.”
Grampian’s suppliers and customers can also join Ripple at no extra cost, gaining access to the same time and cost benefits. Ripple’s value chain ecosystem makes complex compliance tasks – such as capturing scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions data – easier and more efficient which is key to Grampian’s ambition to help its customers identify their up and down stream transportation impacts.
Gavin Murray, CFO, Grampian Continental added: “Partnering with Ripple has already brought significant time savings and efficiencies to our compliance and sustainability data management processes in a short period of time. We are dedicated to operating sustainably and we look forward to maximising the impact of our partnership as we continue to grow globally.”
