An Aberdeen-based PR company has continued its tenth birthday celebrations with a significant expansion of its popular series of Gateway business networking events.

The company, which was founded in 2008, is well known for its regular events which create opportunities to establish and grow links between Aberdeen and fellow energy hubs.  The inaugural Gateway linked Aberdeen with Houston in March 2013 and, since then, a total of 13 events have been held with Norway and Perth, WA adding to the annual calendar.

Now, as Granite PR marks a decade in business, its founder and managing director Brett Jackson has announced plans to use the popular Gateway platform to link the North East of Scotland with Abu Dhabi and the wider United Arab Emirates.

On October 4th Aberdeen’s Macdonald Norwood Hall Hotel will be the setting for a lunchtime gathering featuring a soon-to-be announced line-up of leading industry speakers. The event is being held in association with SAMCO and M3 Marine Innovative Technology and will also welcome an inbound delegation of representatives from Abu Dhabi who will make trip to Aberdeen to speak with their North East counterparts.

Commenting on the plans, Brett Jackson said: “The founding ethos of the Gateway was to provide international knowledge sharing and networking opportunities for those keen to establish or grow links in a key overseas location.  This way of thinking remains central to our Gateway events as we enter our second decade in business.

“The wealth of opportunities which exist in Abu Dhabi and the wider UAE, and the significance of their export markets, make them a natural fit with what the Gateway series seeks to facilitate and we are excited at the prospect of creating a new platform to help delegates explore further.”
