Gray’s Degree Show to showcase promising creative talent

Work by more than 150 art and design students will go on display this month as The 2017 Gray’s School of Art Degree Show gets underway.

The show launches on Friday, June 16, and will showcase the work of all final year students, spanning disciplines including painting, fashion and textiles, contemporary art practice, 3D design and communication design.

The popular annual event, sponsored for the fourteenth year by BP, is a great opportunity to see emerging north-east talent, as well as purchase a wide range of work.

Head of Gray’s School of Art, Professor Chris O’Neil, said: “Once again we have an extremely rich show planned which will showcase the hard work, creativity and commitment of our artists and designers here at Gray’s.

“The Degree Show is a fantastic celebration of the work of the students, and plays an important role in contributing towards Aberdeen’s varied and continuously developing cultural offering.”

Prof. O’Neil added: “We are extremely grateful to BP for its support of the Degree Show over the past 14 years and for helping provide our students with such a strong platform from which to launch their future careers.”

The Gray’s School of Art Degree Show 2017, sponsored by BP, will be launched on Friday, June 16 and runs until Saturday, June 24. Entry is free and opening times are Monday to Friday, 10am to 8pm; weekends 10am to 5pm.
