Green Marine (UK) Ltd, a leading service provider in the renewable energy and offshore sectors, has announced the acquisition of ROVs, survey equipment, vessels, personnel, and contract agreements from Orkney-based Roving Eye Enterprises Ltd, a move set to significantly enhance its operational capabilities in UK and European waters.
This transaction, finalised on 13 August 2025, builds upon the longstanding partnership between the two firms, whose collaboration includes delivering marine energy projects and installing Microsoft’s Project Natick subsea datacentre at Billia Croo. The newly acquired assets, such as a range of advanced ROVs and specialised survey equipment, will complement Green Marine’s existing subsea technology, boosting data quality and subsea intervention capabilities.
A highlight of the acquisition is the addition of “Athenia,” a multi-purpose catamaran recognised for its proficiency in survey and ROV operations, particularly within aquaculture and inshore environments. This expansion reinforces Green Marine’s fleet flexibility, providing greater versatility for its service offering.
Beyond physical assets, Green Marine assumes control over Roving Eye’s portfolio of call-off agreements, contracts, trading name, and goodwill, ensuring continuity for Roving Eye’s existing customers and furthering Green Marine’s position as a trusted marine services provider.

Integration and upgrades to the newly acquired assets are already underway, with Green Marine having completed a pipeline survey contract that utilised both companies’ equipment and personnel. This demonstrates the synergy achieved through the strategic partnership and the benefits to clients who rely on high-quality marine survey and inspection services.
