GREYHOPE Bay recently released stunning interior images of their soon to be delivered dolphin viewing centre, café and education space at Torry Battery. The images and virtual tour created a huge buzz across the city-building excitement in the lead up to an opening date.

Greyhope Bay are now looking for more local businesses and their staff to join their growing community of Corporate Skippers supporting their work to connect Aberdeen communities with its coastline.

This work includes the development of educational programmes and community events related to the local marine environment, history and heritage, and the sustainable practices that will see Greyhope Bay operate as more than a café on a hill

Corporate Skippers can start with an investment of £500 – £5000 to become a Corporate Skipper, and will get access to Greyhope Community where staff can contribute to the development of educational programming and community events at Torry Battery.

Corporate Skippers can also work up to Greyhope Admiral status through employee fundraising over the year.

Funds raised by Corporate Skippers will contribute to:

  • Greyhope Stories, a new online educational and storytelling platform
  • Greyhope Trail, our upcoming interactive trail
  • Curated outdoor art/science interpretation on site
  • Launching Greyhope Cadets: kid’s programme and activities
  • Community and cultural events
  • Education and knowledge exchange on our green tech and operations for our off-grid facility
  • Environmental stewardship

Founder Fiona McIntyre said, “We were blown away by the huge wave of enthusiasm and support for our plans for Torry Battery – a new green-powered community space that will create a spectacular vantage point for visitors to take in views of the city, coast, harbour, and the many resident Bottlenose dolphins who regularly make an appearance.”  “With thousands of new followers on social, over 200 new Founder Crew members, and a community of local business supporting the project to help make it a reality, we are excited about the take-up when we are still a few months away from opening.”
