Hand of Solace SCIO Hosts Empowering Event for Aberdeen Black Ethnic Women

On Saturday, Hand of Solace, a registered SCIO charity, hosted an inspiring and inclusive event at Airyhall School for the Aberdeen Black Ethnic Women Group. This flagship project is dedicated to empowering and uplifting black ethnic women in Aberdeen, highlighting the group’s vital role in fostering community, resilience, and empowerment for its members.

Hand of Solace is committed to supporting socially isolated and disadvantaged individuals across Aberdeen City. Through initiatives like the Aberdeen Black Ethnic Women Group, the charity aims to reduce social isolation and address the impacts of disadvantage. Its ultimate goal is to promote health and mental well-being, enabling service users to live happier, more fulfilling lives.

The event provided a platform for attendees to connect, share experiences, and celebrate achievements. A significant highlight was the recognition of the charity’s dedicated volunteers, whose tireless efforts are central to delivering its objectives.

Edward Obi, a Bridgebuilder and Founder from Diversity Bridge SCIO, joined Immaculata Adiele Nnabuko, the visionary Founder of Hand of Solace, to honour these volunteers and celebrate the group’s success.

“Our mission at Hand of Solace is to uplift and support those who face social isolation and disadvantages,” said Immaculata Adiele Nnabuko. “The Aberdeen Black Ethnic Women Group embodies this mission by creating a space where women from black ethnic backgrounds can connect, grow, and thrive.
