Norwood Hall is the only Aberdeen-based hotel in contention for Wedding Venue of the Year (North), while Aimee Nekrews has been nominated for Wedding Co-ordinator of the Year and the hotel’s popular annual wedding fayre could be named Local Wedding Exhibition of the Year.

Following success at the 2023 event, the Norwood team is not only looking to defend its crown for both Wedding of the Year (North) and Local Wedding Exhibition of the Year but go one step further by claiming the wedding co-ordinator prize too.

The winners will be unveiled during a black-tie ceremony held at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Glasgow on Wednesday, March 6th. Now in its 11th year, the Scottish Wedding Awards aim to recognise and reward those within the wedding industry that work towards making couples’ big day as perfect as possible.

Aimee Nekrews, weddings and special events manager at Norwood Hall Hotel, commented: “This latest awards recognition is credit to our dedicated team of wedding professionals – from front of house to the kitchen staff and everyone in between.

“It really is a collective effort, and we are fortunate to have many long-serving colleagues who know what it takes to plan a successful wedding and play a huge role in our ability to deliver the highest possible service consistently throughout the entire year.

“Following a record number of weddings during 2022, we have continued to work tirelessly to provide the best possible experience for our brides and grooms who choose Norwood as the venue to celebrate their big day.

“It’s always pleasing to be recognised by our customers and industry peers alike, and the fact we are the only city-based hotel nominated gives us extra motivation to do well on the night.”

Norwood Hall has welcomed thousands of brides and grooms through its doors over the past 50 years and continues to host countless special moments for all the family.

The hotel never holds more than one wedding on any given day to ensure complete focus is given to each couple. It caters for ceremonies of all sizes, from up to 200 people in the venue’s ballroom to smaller, more intimate affairs in the library or private function rooms.

Norwood’s acclaimed Tapestry Restaurant features traditional Scottish cuisine and is committed to providing the finest locally sourced produce and ingredients. Similarly, the menu for each wedding or event can be tailor-made to suit individual tastes or preferences whilst retaining an emphasis on quality food and drink.

Located within the grounds of the 15th century Pitfodels Castle, Norwood Hall offers 73 luxury bedrooms, including multiple bridal suites and period rooms. The four-star hotel caters for weddings all year round and is surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery and a tranquil location with ample parking within close proximity to the city centre.
