Aberdeenshire North and Moray East MP Seamus Logan has welcomed the swift action taken to erect hoardings around a derelict site in Fraserburgh.

The SNP MP had received approaches from local residents concerned at the unsightly nature of the derelict site in the town’s Cross Street, the site of a former garage.

Following an approach from the MP, the Chief Executive of Grampian Housing Association advised that work to erect hoardings around the site would commence soon and the hoardings have now been erected.

Commenting, Seamus Logan MP said:

“This is a very prominent site on the main approach to the Town Centre and it gave a very poor impression of the town.  I’m therefore pleased that Grampian Housing Association have acted so quickly following my approach to erect hoardings in an effort to reduce the visual impact of this piece of land, something which myself and local councillors have wanted for some time.

“Of course, ideally, the site should be developed and I trust that work in this regard can be forthcoming shortly.”
