Home-Start Aberdeen has officially opened its new charity shop on George Street today, marking a significant milestone for the long-standing family support charity.
The shop, located at 100 George Street, replaces the organisation’s smaller unit further along the street and offers a much larger, brighter retail space following the refurbishment of the former Santander premises. The expanded site will allow the charity to increase its fundraising efforts while offering an improved shopping experience for customers.

The new store stocks an extensive range of quality pre-loved clothing, children’s wear, toys, homeware, books and gifts, with all proceeds supporting Home-Start Aberdeen’s work with local families. The charity has operated in the city for more than 30 years, providing practical and emotional support to parents with young children.

Chief executive Cameron McCready said the move represents a major step forward.
“This new shop gives us greater visibility and room to grow our impact across Aberdeen. The support we’ve had from local businesses, volunteers and the community has been incredible, and we’re delighted to finally open our doors.”

The new shop will be open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm, and closed on Sundays.
Home-Start Aberdeen continues to welcome donations of good-quality items and is seeking additional volunteers to help run the shop. Further details can be found at www.homestartaberdeen.org.uk.
