IKEA announced a major sale yesterday, 29 January, at its Aberdeen Order and Collection Point. The event came as the retailer prepared for its upcoming relocation from Wellington Circle to a new Plan & Order Point format in Union Square, set to open in spring 2026.

The transition marked an important milestone for IKEA Aberdeen. The company’s Wellington Circle site – opened in 2016 – was confirmed to close on 1 March, as IKEA moves to a more central location in the heart of the city, bringing its updated planning-led format directly to Union Square.

Beginning 29 January, customers were able to take advantage of substantial discounts across all ex-display items, including:
· At least 50% off all ex-display furniture
· At least 30% off all ex-display home furnishing products

All items were available in-store only, on a first-come, first-served basis, while stocks lasted.

Kevin Coventry, Market Manager, IKEA UK & Ireland said, “As we prepare for an exciting new chapter for IKEA in Aberdeen, this sale offers customers the chance to bring home some of our well-known display pieces at some exceptional prices. Our upcoming move to Union Square will help us better meet the needs of customers by offering more convenient access to our full product range.”

The new Union Square location, opening in spring 2026, will operate as a Plan & Order Point, providing bespoke kitchen, bedroom and storage planning services. Customers can also browse and purchase from a curated selection of around 250 home furnishing accessories, available for immediate takeaway. In addition, the site will offer the same ordering, collection and returns services available across all our stores.
