Both revenue and profit have increased by 60% year on year from 2016 to 2017 at specialist finance resourcing business Hutcheon Mearns.

The firm was established in March 2015 in Aberdeen as the economy in the local area started to feel the effects of the prolonged decline in the Oil price to below $40 a barrel.

Despite this backdrop the business has gone from strength to strength and now employs a team of 6 staff and 2 partners of which 5 are fully qualified chartered accountants.

Craig Hutcheon commented “It has been a challenging two years for sure but we have grown a brand which now attracts real value in the local market. With our consulting services we always aim to add tangible value to our clients, often out with the initial scope. Our differentiator is our people, who are fantastic and will be rewarded as such throughout our future strategic growth.”

Andrew Ferguson joined the business as Partner in April 2016 to augment and grow the specialist finance recruitment offering. He added “Our business model proves to be very attractive to our client base. We can fill the skills gaps that a traditional recruitment agency often struggles with. As specialists in finance recruitment we have a unique approach which has received exceptional feedback time and time again. Our focus on recruitment is quality, candidate care and exceeding clients expectations. We always earn our fee.”

The business has recently completed a 5 year business plan which will result in significant growth over the coming years as the market recovers and they are currently looking to add new consultants to the team who have practice and industry experience combined with drive and the ability to innovate.

“Both revenue and profit have increased by 60% year on year from 2016 to 2017”.
