The hotel has been part of the family-owned Cairn Group since the early 1990s and is currently the focus of a major programme of refurbishment.  In the latest phase, the ground floor lounge, reception and bar areas have been rejuvenated and the brand-new Station Brasserie dining destination has been created. It offers relaxed lunches, afternoon teas and dinners in the heart of the city and is a smart new environment in which to enjoy the Station Hotel’s famous high teas.

A total of 50 bedrooms have also been sympathetically revitalised to highlight their unique appeal, and increase the number of double rooms available in a bid to meet demand.  The high specification end results offer many features, including flat screen TVs, super-fast connectivity and large, comfortable beds in generously proportioned rooms. During the next phase of work, more bedrooms will be worked on and function rooms will also be upgraded.

To date, an additional 15 jobs have also been created as a result of the project which is expected to total £10 million on completion.

Commenting on the refurbishment, Station Hotel, Aberdeen General Manager Linda Matthew said: “This wonderful building really is a grand old lady of the city so we have to ensure that the venue retains its charm and personality in any changes we make.

“We have worked hard to bring the hotel back to life and celebrate its individuality in a way which will appeal to leisure and business customers who have a long connection with the place, and those whom we look forward to welcoming for the first time.”

Nick Gamble, Cairn Hotel Group’s Operations Director for Scotland added: “The investment in the Station Hotel has been significant and we are delighted with the results. We have been sympathetic to this period property, protecting many of the original features and style accents.”
