Deirdre was awarded a Fellowship from the North East of Scotland College and an OBE for her services to the Oil and Gas industry in the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2018.

In a speech to receive the honorary degree, Deirdre Michie said:

“It’s been an extraordinary honour and quite a challenge to represent the oil and gas sector for the past six years, during which the industry has been through the most demanding and difficult of times.

“There are of course many other people who are actively driving this positive agenda forward and I would also like to call out and thank my professional and dedicated colleagues at OGUK for everything that they do – driven as they are by our OGUK values of community, courage, commitment and change – to help deliver an energy transition that is a just and fair one.”
