Inverness company Alchemy Plus delivers IT services to firms across a range of sectors including oil and gas, construction, retail and professional services including accountancy practices and legal firms.

It will continue to operate under its own name from its offices on Seafield Road, and is set to hire two more people to bring its team to 10 people. Combined, the companies currently have a staff of 26, which will rise to 28. They will also see a combined turnover of £2million.

The move will see the firms become one of the largest independent IT support businesses in the north of Scotland. It now plans to tender for a series of projects across the north, supported by the operations in Aberdeen and Inverness.

Dynamic Edge managing director Stuart Winterburn will be based in Inverness over the coming months while the business transitions.

He said: “The purchase of Alchemy is an ideal fit for us as we look to broaden our reach across the north.

“This is an exciting time for both companies. The respective teams are looking forward to working together and the combined level of knowledge puts us in a strong position to grow the business.”

Dynamic Edge chief executive Rob Hamilton said: “We’re delighted with the deal. There are a burgeoning number of technologies out there that can help businesses and we see huge potential in Inverness and the surrounding area.”

Alchemy Plus executive chairman Peter Swanson now plans to concentrate on his other business interests.

He said; “The deal was completed relatively quickly and is great news for both businesses. Dynamic Edge is a strong, innovative business that wants to build on our success locally.

“It has the same focus upon quality customer service and front-line expertise and is perfectly equipped to take the company to the next level. I wish Dynamic Edge all the best in developing a very successful business across the north of Scotland.”
