The Inverurie Business Association (IBA) held an Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) on Thursday 29th November to propose and ratify changes to the association’s constitution and to appoint new committee roles.

At the EGM the members were notified of proposed changes to the IBA’s constitution, the amendments were in response to the success of the We Are INverurie BID and to ensure that the IBA’s constitution continued to be fit for purpose and adjusted to include the IBA’s relationship with the new We Are INverurie BID organisation. The proposed amendments to the IBA’s constitution were approved unanimously by those members attending the EGM and therefore ratified accordingly.

The IBA Committee was delighted to announce, at the meeting, the appointment of Victoria Withy as the association’s new Chairperson along with Craig Morrice as Vice-Chair. These two appointments followed the resignation as Chair by Ashley Wilson who stepped down in order that she could focus on her role as the ‘We Are Inverurie’ BID Manager. Ashley will continue to work closely with the IBA Association to support Inverurie.

Ashley Wilson said “I want to wish all the very best to the IBA committee.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on the committee and know that the team is totally focused on supporting businesses in and around Inverurie.”

In addition, the IBA welcomed a number of new committee members to the team including; Mohammed Khan, Carol Bruce, Hayley Yule, and Richard Young.

Victoria said, “The IBA’s core focus continues to be to promote and help all businesses in Inverurie and the surrounding area so all can play an effective role as the town continues to develop as a great place to live, work and do business for future generations.”
