Funds from the dance will go to supporting the historical football team itself, which has been a staple of Inverurie since it was founded in 1903 by workmen from the Great North Scotland Railway. Rising from junior football in 2001 the funding will be used to help the team continue its upward trajectory in the famed Highland League.

The event itself promises to be an exciting night with a delicious three-course meal alongside music from the award-winning band ‘The Limit’, playing a mix of modern ceilidh, classics and chart hits. An auction will also be held after the meal, with the aim of raising even more funds for the club and a number of chosen charities.

Graeme Hay, club vice-chairman said; “It’s a great opportunity for players, management, committee, sponsors and fans to come together for a wonderful night out and support a fantastic club in the process.”

Graeme Hay said: “Events like this are vital for the Locos. They put important funds into Inverurie Loco Works FC, a community club at the heart of Inverurie and this not only allow us to operate the club but also for us to support a wide number of charitable causes around Aberdeenshire.”

The Locos social calendar also includes events such as the Business Lunch held in November and sponsored by main club sponsor, national housebuilder Cala Homes (North) and a boxing night held in November.

The event is to take place on Saturday February 15th at Thainstone Exchange in Inverurie, starting at 7pm with tickets expected to sell out well in advance.
