Aberdeenshire eco-business re:treat Apothecary will this month mark its first birthday with a charity event. re:treat Relaxation takes place at newly opened Inverurie venue No. 8 and will blend guided relaxation and aromatherapy.
re:treat Apothecary’s handmade cosmetic products – including ranges of natural deodorant and oils – launched in June 2020 and are now stocked at 16 locations from the Hebrides to Yorkshire.
Clinical Aromatherapist and re:treat owner Kathryn McIntosh will host the event and said: “re:treat Relaxation is the perfect opportunity to rebalance, reconnect and recover alongside like-minded folk in a beautiful new venue. Guests should bring their yoga mat, a blanket and prepare to surrender to some luscious relaxation.
“To celebrate re:treat Apothecary’s first birthday the event will be free to attend – however donations will be collected in aid of Trees for Life, a fantastic charity rewilding the Scottish Highlands. Every pound received will go directly towards planting new trees.
“While there has been much to celebrate over re:treat Apothecary’s first 12 months in business, it is also a great opportunity to reflect on what we have achieved in eco-terms.
“We have worked hard to offer a sustainable alternative to traditional cosmetics – re:treat Apothecary products and packaging are vegan, cruelty free and plastic free.
“With over 1600 tins of deodorant sold in our first year we have prevented the equivalent in single-use plastic from going to landfill. Even more pleasing is that an increasing number of customers are taking advantage of our closed-loop refill service.”
re:treat Relaxation takes place at No. 8, Inverurie on Friday 11th June at noon. Places at the event are limited and can be booked via www.retreataberdeenshire.com/workshops-and-events.
