Clan Cancer Support has received two prestigious globally recognised awards from Investors in People.

The charity has achieved silver level accreditation for Investors in People, demonstrating the organisation goes beyond the basics of good people management and cultivates continuous improvement, leadership excellence and staff engagement.

Clan was also awarded the standard level accreditation for Investors in Wellbeing, highlighting the charity’s dedication to nurturing a healthy, inclusive, and compassionate environment for staff and volunteers.

The Investors in People framework is an internationally recognised benchmark which assesses how effectively organisations lead, support and develop their people.

Fiona Fernie, Clan’s CEO, said: “These prestigious recognitions reflect Clan’s deep commitment to creating a workplace culture where people feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

“These achievements are the result of collective effort across all areas of the organisation, highlighting a shared commitment to excellence and nurturing an environment which prioritises the mental, emotional, financial and physical wellbeing of staff and volunteers alike.”

The charity will now continue to engage Investors in People to ensure it continues to meet, or exceed, the requirements expected to uphold the accreditations.

Fiona Fernie added: “This accreditation process has given us incredibly useful feedback and insights which will allow us to further strengthen our approach to people development and wellbeing, ensuring our staff and volunteering teams remain at the heart of everything we do.”

Clan Cancer Support is the largest, independent cancer support charity in the north of Scotland and provides emotional and physical support to anyone impacted by a cancer diagnosis, including the individual, their family, carers and friends.

The charity provides free professional counselling, complementary therapies, health and wellbeing activities, information and dedicated support for children and families across north-east Scotland, Moray, Orkney and Shetland.
