The Aberdeen-based firm will deliver assessor and verified courses to OPITO standards to more than 80 operatives at Stork, a global provider of knowledge-based asset integrity services, focused on the oil and gas, chemical and power sectors.

ITB is an approved training centre for SQA, OPITO, City & Guilds and The Institute of Leadership and Management. It works in partnership with a number of oil and gas clients worldwide, providing tailored services to match individual requirements.

Jenny Stokes, ITB’s managing director and founder, said: “We are delighted that Stork is maintaining a commitment to competency training and look forward to having them as one of our valued clients.

“Demand for training is high and competence assurance is a top priority for employees in all sectors. The effective observation, assessment and nurturing of skills leads to more efficient individuals, which in turn, creates a stronger workforce.

“Ensuring the maintenance of company and industry standards is integral and we work with our clients to hone in on the benefits that can be brought forward, while also adding value to business processes and increasing employee skills levels. This results in assurances for both management and employees, as well as recognition and development opportunities for staff and ultimately a more competent workforce.”

Eric Florence, Stork Competency Manager, said: “Stork is committed to the development of our personnel in all aspects of safety and competency. We have established a ‘best in class’ competency management system, of which assessor training is an integral part, and introducing ITB as our assessor trainer completes our objective.”
