As she gears up to wake up Inverness and the North of Scotland, Jodie has been reflecting back on her time on air with the region’s biggest commercial radio station.

Jodie joined the station 14 years ago in 2008, originally as a journalist before slowly making more appearances on air, capturing the ears of MFR listeners, and eventually getting the opportunity to host her own show.

Jodie McCluskey said: “I started at MFR back in 2008 and have had a fantastic time presenting all my shows, including my current day time show. The listeners are brilliant, and I hope they join me on the next stage of my journey as my dream of having my own breakfast show becomes a reality on 16th May.”

The show, which will be broadcast every weekday morning from 6am-10am, is not the only change to station. The Highlands’ favourite station has also announced the return of presenter Tich McCooey.

The MFR legend is making a regular return to the airwaves after leaving the station back in 2015.

Tich will make be making regular guest appearances on the new breakfast show including the last Friday of every month. That’s when he will join Jodie to play a mix of the biggest hits from across the decades, while taking calls from listeners across the North of Scotland.

Tich joins Jodie on Friday the 20th of May for his very first ‘Tich’s Mix’.

Tich McCooey said: “When the opportunity came up to return to MFR I jumped at the chance.

“I loved every second of the 30+ years I presented on-air across the North of Scotland, and I still get messages and people stopping me on the street talking about all the old shows.

I’m looking forward to playing all the biggest hits and chatting to the brilliant MFR listeners.”

Victoria Easton-Riley, Content Director for the Hits Radio Network across Scotland said “I am absolutely delighted that Jodie is stepping up to host the new MFR breakfast show. We are committed to ensuring the future of radio in local markets with shows like Jodie’s along with local news content, local information, sport, traffic and travel.

“It is also very exciting to welcome back Tich who will be returning to the station. His monthly guest appearances will be a treat for radio lovers as he brings with him some huge hits and throwbacks from across the decades.
