Bill joined Oteac last week and will be responsible for establishing the sales strategy and team required to grow the business at a national level.

Oteac, part of the Nucore Group, has over 30 years’ proven experience delivering fire, security and gas detection systems to large private and public sector clients as well as offshore to the oil, gas, marine and renewable sectors.

The firm which employs over 60 people in Aberdeen, Inverness and Edinburgh, supports customers with the design, installation, servicing and maintenance of fire and security systems including alarms, hydrants, gas detection, sprinkler systems, emergency lighting, disabled refuge and public address and voice alarm (PAVA) systems. The company is working to expand its services further throughout the UK.

Talking about his appointment Bill said: “This is a great opportunity for me and the business. I started in this industry in Aberdeen back in 1992 and I’ve worked with some of the team here before. We have quality people in the business, dedicated to customer care and they’ve built a terrific reputation.

“The business and team have ambitious plans and I’m excited to join at this time to build on past success and transition us for growth. I have a depth of operational, commercial and sales experience to bring to the role, along with the knowledge of establishing new divisions, building teams and entering new markets.

“It’s been a refreshing start and I’m looking forward to reconnecting with my Aberdeen network, meeting with our customers and making a difference in the business. I believe we have some key specialisms which our competitors do not offer, providing us with an opportunity to add real value.”

Bill is an associate of the Institute of Maintenance and Building Management and is a graduate of Ashridge Business College. He worked for Chubb and ADT and in 2005 was appointed general manager for ADT Spain, responsible for establishing and setting up their Spanish fire services division. In 2011 Bill joined Otis, part of the United Technologies Group, and spent three years working in Aberdeen supporting both onshore and offshore accounts before relocating to Birmingham in 2015 where he worked with national scale customers. Bill returned to Scotland earlier this year in a regional sales manager role before joining Oteac.

John Singer, fire and security manager said: “We’re really pleased to have Bill on-board with us. This is an exciting time at Oteac, working with long standing clients as well as securing contracts on a number of new, high profile projects across Aberdeen City and Shire. We have a great team who are knowledgeable, skilled and capable. Bill’s direction will help to enrich the team whilst focusing on our customers’ experience and opening up new opportunities across the country.”

Oteac, part of the Nucore Group, is an international service company with over 30 years’ proven experience delivering fire, gas detection and security systems and related design and engineering services to large private and public sector clients as well as offshore to the oil, gas and marine sectors globally.
