ABERDEEN chartered accountancy firm, Meston Reid & Co, has announced a key promotion within the practice.

Stuart MacPherson has been appointed senior manager of business services having previously been business services manager.

A former pupil at Forres Academy and a graduate in business studies from Robert Gordon University, Stuart has been with the company for 23 years.

Stuart said: “I’m thrilled with this promotion. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Meston Reid & Co.

“The changes in recent years in the profession in terms of the move to cloud accounting, the impact of making tax digital along with the ever-changing technical requirements means that the accounting advisor’s role in assisting clients is more important than ever.

“I look forward to continuing to help our clients and contribute to the firm’s success in my new role.”

In conjunction with colleagues, Stuart has taken responsibility for supporting the firm’s placement students and accountancy graduates. In addition, he provides accountancy and advisory services to clients.

Michael Reid, Meston Reid & Co managing partner, said: “Stuart’s promotion is deserved due to his long-standing and valued commitment to clients and his dedication in supporting accountancy students and graduates at Meston Reid & Co over the years. We are delighted to recognise his achievements.”
