NEWBURGH-based steel fabrication and installation company KR Group have engaged the services of QHSE ABERDEEN to develop and implement PAS 2060 & ISO 14064 Methodology – demonstrating the carbon neutrality of KR Group’s entire organisation. Methodologies undertaken by the company include Measurement using a sound methodology, reduction of emissions through a target-driven carbon management plan, and offsetting of excess emissions by purchasing carbon credits that meet the schemes approved by PAS 2060.
KR Group successfully became ‘Carbon Neutral’ in March 2022, achieving a balance between the carbon the business emits and the carbon it prevents. This was made possible by making fundamental changes within the business to reduce carbon emissions caused by business activity. The remaining carbon is offset via their partnership with Highland Carbon, who manage ‘offsetting projects’ such as forest protection and reforestation, windfarms, solar arrays, hydropower, waste reduction and community schemes.

KR Group efforts have been recognised on a national level, being shortlisted as finalists at both the recent CeeD Awards and FSB Awards in their Sustainability categories.
