Residents and staff at Landale Court in Chapelton volunteered their time this festive season to help people living in and around Aberdeenshire with much-needed donations this Christmastime.

It’s the third year in which the team at Landale Court have completed their festive initiative, spending time collecting much needed items for local charity The Larder. Based in Portlethen, the charity was born out of the pandemic, providing food and essential items such as toiletries, cleaning items and baby essentials to those in need in Portlethen and the surrounding areas.

Last year’s efforts raised a generous number of donations which were gifted by residents, staff, and supporters from the local community – but this year that benchmark was smashed by the team’s efforts. Morag Macindoe, General Manager at Landale Court, explained: “The reverse advent calendar is one of our much-loved traditions here at Landale Court and the support we have received from staff, homeowners and locals in the area has been truly heartwarming.

“During November, we worked so hard to give back, finding things that The Larder really needed – that’s things like tinned fruit to shower gel and even selection box treats. The local community have been amazing in bringing such items and much, much more!

“We had a calendar on display at Landale Court and the donations will truly make a huge difference during what can be a very hard time of year for so many. We’d like to thank everyone that took part and donated such kind offerings.”

The team has handed over their collection to The Larder, and the charity will now distribute the goods to those in dire need this Christmastime.

Landale Court is a vibrant 94-home development expertly designed for residents over the age of 55, offering those seeking a fulfilling retirement with an array of facilities including a neighbourhood green, fire pit den, quiet garden as well as The Hub – the social heartbeat of the community filled with a hobby room, club room and the Slate & Grain brasserie, bar and coffee lounge.

Recently launched Phase 2 also brings a 3-bedroom unique detached home which is the largest Brio style to date boasting 1259sqft of floor space.
