A LANDMARK site in Aberdeen’s central area has come to the market. Due to relocation plans the retail premises at the junction of Holburn Street and Willowbank Road, occupied by Country Ways for the past 45 years is up for sale. The prominent building also includes 4 upper floor flats, ripe for redevelopment together with a rear cottage accessed off Willowbank Road. The building is also known for its amusing gable mural.

Rosemary Michie of Country Ways commented: “We have been planning to relocate for some time now and are proactively looking at a number of options in the area which will offer us a better space to grow the business. It makes sense for us to agree a deal on our current home at this time. It will be business as usual from our Holburn Street site during the marketing process”.

Property Consultants FG Burnett are handling the sale. Managing Director Richard Noble believes there will be healthy interest in the opportunity. He commented: “This is an interesting mixed use investment / development opportunity occupying a very prominent site. The upper floors and rear cottage offer a refurbishment opportunity whilst the existing shop can be relet for retail purposes or another use. There is also scope for a wholesale redevelopment of the whole corner site.”
