ANM Group, one of Scotland’s largest member-owned co-operatives, has announced changes to its Board following their AGM on Tuesday 28 April.

Mike Macaulay steps down from the Board after 13 years’ service having served 4 years latterly as chairman. Prominent northeast farmer Stuart Stephen has been appointed to the role of chairman following a four-year tenure as vice-chairman. Stuart alongside his family, farms 700 acres at Netherthird, Rothienorman, and runs the successful Thorneybank Farm Shop. He is a former director of the Royal Northern Agricultural Society and a past President of Turriff Show.

ANM stalwart and current president of the Institute of Auctioneers and Appraisers of Scotland, Alan Hutcheon has been appointed vice-chairman and leading business advisor and former FRP Advisory partner, Iain Fraser, who was co-opted to the board in 2023, takes on the role of deputy vice-chairman.

The board changes were made following the Group’s AGM, where members heard that ANM Group delivered another strong trading year, with turnover up 20%, and trading profit increasing to £2,772,000 resulting in an increased dividend rate of 4 – 5% paid to members.

Retiring chairman Mike Macaulay said: “It has been a privilege to serve as chairman of ANM Group, and I would like to thank the Board, executive team and members for their support.  I am confident the Group is in a strong position, and I wish Stuart and the Board every success for the future.”

Commenting on his new role as chairman, Stuart Stephen said: “I am pleased to take on the role of chairman at an important time for the Group, and for the wider industry.  I am committed to working closely with our members to ensure that the board and the Group continue to deliver real value where it matters most.”

ANM Group Chief Executive Grant Rogerson added: “I would like to thank our former chair Mike Macaulay who has been a great influence over the years.  At a time of challenge and opportunity, the leadership provided by our board is vital in ensuring that we continue building on our strong foundations and seizing new opportunities.

“I look forward to working with Stuart, Alan, Iain and the board in continuing the delivery of key strategic projects, whilst driving sustainable growth across our business.”
