Katie has held senior global marketing and communication roles in both energy and finance and will help spearhead the group’s global growth.
D2Zero – which has the financial backing of SCF Partners – is a business grounded in the realities of the transition, with dual focus on servicing and decarbonising the vitally important oil and gas sector, whilst accelerating the transition to renewable energy.
The group includes Score and Hydrasun – two long-established and highly-respected service businesses – and has revenues of over £500million.
Its companies are collaborating with each other – and with industry – across four key areas of the energy transition: emissions reduction; clean hydrogen; power efficiency and resilience management; and carbon capture and storage.
Bob Drummond, CEO of D2Zero, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Katie to D2Zero at such a pivotal time in the energy transition.
“Her extensive experience and strategic insights in both energy and finance will be invaluable as we expand our reach and accelerate our mission. With her on board, we are well-positioned to build on our momentum and achieve our ambitious goals.”
Prior to joining D2Zero, Katie was the Head of Marketing Communications at the Net Zero Technology Centre and Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Lloyd’s Registers Energy business, where she delivered strategies and global campaigns that significantly boosted brand visibility, growth, and market share.
Katie is a Chartered Marketer and holds an MSc in Decommissioning, a Postgraduate Degree in Marketing, and a BA (Hons) Degree in Business Studies.
Throughout her career, she has been part of and led award-winning teams that have received recognition for excellence in thought leadership and digital marketing. She was shortlisted for the Global Women In Marketing ‘Changer Maker’ award which recognises females re-shaping marketing within their firms and disrupting industry models.
Commenting on her appointment at D2Zero, Katie said: “I am thrilled to join D2Zero as Chief Marketing Officer. This is a crucial time for the energy sector, and D2Zero, along with its diverse portfolio of businesses, is leading the way with innovative solutions.
“I look forward to leveraging my expertise to enhance our impact, build on D2Zero’s achievements, and drive further growth.”
D2Zero will deliver its mission to decarbonise critical industries from Aberdeen’s Energy Transition Zone, the largest dedicated energy transition complex in Europe.
Mr Drummond says the company has a “strong and active pipeline” of opportunities and, supported by SCF Partners, is looking to complete further acquisitions in the coming months.
