The announcement comes on the back of the latest donation today (2 July) from its charitable trust to boost funds raised at a garden party last month from £1,600 to £2,000 for Sue Ryder’s Dee View Court Appeal.

The event, held at Milton of Crathes and attended by 50 people from the local business community, raised the money to help the charity create a further 20 bedrooms at its Aberdeen-based neurological care centre, Dee View Court.

The day before, 13 June, four representatives from the firm took part in the Cornerstone Foundation’s Chopper Challenge, raising around £1,000.

The challenge saw participants take the plunge in a helicopter underwater escape trainer (HUET) simulator, giving teams the chance to see what offshore workers go through before heading to the North Sea installations.

The Cornerstone Foundation is the charitable arm of the Scottish care provider, Cornerstone, helping transform the lives of local people with disabilities and long-term health conditions.

And of course, avid TV viewers would have seen four firm colleagues and amateur bakers go head to head on Wednesday 19 June in BBC Scotland’s Flour Power programme.

Document controller Jonny Burns was ultimately crowned the winner — and the bake sale held as part of the programme raised £381 for Charlie House’s Big Build campaign to create a specialist care and support centre in Aberdeen for children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Chairman and partner Jennifer Young said: “We’re actively involved in the third sector, from raising money to our ongoing participation in boards, governing bodies, and charitable trusts. And it’s fair to say we all gain so much out of this commitment on a personal and professional level.

“Each year staff choose a type of cause to focus our firm-wide charitable efforts on, and these latest three activities and events bring our year with healthcare charities in the spotlight to a close. Plus, over a number of years, people from our firm have served on the boards at Cornerstone and Charlie House, and that’s set to continue.”
