Leonardo Hotels purchases five Scottish Portland Hotels

Leonardo Hotels has acquired five hotels in Scotland from Portland Hotels adding 536 additional bedrooms across the country.

The deal increases the company’s presence in Edinburgh and gains a presence in Glasgow, Perth and Aberdeen.

Leonardo Hotels will now operate two hotels in Edinburgh with a combined 445 rooms after it acquired the Leonardo Royal in October last year.

The newly acquired portfolio will join the Leonardo Hotels family and will be integrated into the wider Leonardo portfolio, which will comprise over 80 hotels after the recent acquisition.

The 52 bedroom boutique Edinburgh City Hotel located at the heart of the capital city below Edinburgh Castle and minutes from Grassmarket.

The Edinburgh Capital is located between Edinburgh city centre and Edinburgh Airport. In addition to its 111 rooms, the Edinburgh Capital hotel has seven meeting rooms available with a capacity of up to 320 persons and a leisure club with a swimming pool.

The Glasgow Pond Hotel with its 137 rooms and three meeting rooms for up to 130 persons is located in the West End of Glasgow.

In Perth, the Huntingtower Hotel provides 34 bedrooms.

The Speedbird Inn with 202 rooms is located immediately adjacent Aberdeen Airport.
