Local charity Somebody Cares Aberdeen is inviting businesses from across the city and shire to step inside its new headquarters at Royfold House, Hill of Rubislaw, for a relaxed open coffee morning designed to connect the city’s corporate community with the work taking place to support people facing hardship locally.

Following their recent move, the organisation is opening its doors to welcome business leaders and teams who are interested in learning more about how they can support communities across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire while building meaningful local partnerships.

The informal morning event will offer an opportunity for guests to meet the team and volunteers behind Somebody Cares Aberdeen, tour the charity’s new facilities and gain a deeper understanding of the practical support and community connection it provides year-round.

Yekemi Otaru, CEO, Somebody Cares, commented:

“The team and I are delighted to extend this invitation to the many businesses in Aberdeen. Whether you already know about our work or you’re new to what Somebody Cares Aberdeen provides to the Aberdeen community, you’re most welcome to attend our open morning tour. It’s an exciting time for the charity and we can’t wait to show attendees around our new facilities.”

The event also comes after the success of the charity’s Caring at Christmas campaign, which saw communities, organisations and businesses across the region come together to support people facing hardship during the festive period. Now, the charity are inviting Aberdeen’s business community to play a role in supporting that work throughout the year.

Alison Topley, Head of Operations, Somebody Cares, said:

“The support we received from local residents and the business community, particularly during our Caring at Christmas campaign, was incredible. But the need in our community doesn’t stop when Christmas ends – our work continues year round, and it is only possible thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and the support of local partners. We would love to see more businesses get involved. Working with Somebody Cares is a meaningful way for companies to support their local community while also contributing to their environmental and corporate social responsibility goals.”

Businesses attending the event will learn more about the different ways organisations can partner with Somebody Cares Aberdeen, from volunteering and team engagement opportunities to fundraising initiatives and longer-term collaborations that help strengthen support for those who need it most.

The open coffee morning will take place at Royfold House, Hill of Rubislaw, on Wednesday 25h March from 10am to 12pm, offering guests a chance to tour the new facilities, learn more about the charity’s incredible impact and meet the people behind the work.
