LOCAL children’s charity Befriend a Child is inviting teams of 4 to join them for a game of golf on Friday 18th August at Newmachar Golf Club.

The day will commence with an opportunity to meet fellow teams over morning rolls and refreshments before teeing off from a shotgun start to play 18 holes of the idyllic Hawkshill Championship course. As the round comes to an end, each team will be treated to a dram of single malt whisky and welcomed to the clubhouse to enjoy a 2-course carvery whilst soaking up the views ahead of the prize giving.

Befriend a Child’s annual golf day offers the perfect opportunity for colleagues or friends to get together to enjoy playing 18 holes on this picturesque heathland course. Teams can take part in games such as longest drive, nearest to the pin and a hole-in-one competition.

“We’re delighted to announce the return of our annual golf day and to be giving teams the opportunity to test their skills at another top-10 golf course in the Northeast of Scotland,” says Claire Bain, Senior Fundraising Coordinator, Befriend a Child. “The Hawkshill Championship course is situated just North of Aberdeen City and set in beautiful surroundings, making it a fantastic choice for a day of golf, which is only possible with the continued support and generosity of our sponsors CNR International.”

“CNR International is a firm believer in putting something back into the local community, and supporting Befriend a Child, a fantastic local charity, is an ideal way of delivering on one of our core values,” adds Barry Duncan, Managing Director CNR International. “I’m really looking forward to supporting this particular event for the second year running and catching up with other businesses and individuals who get behind such an excellent local charity.”

All proceeds raised at the event will go directly to Befriend a Child, enabling the charity to continue its befriending and mentoring programmes for children and young people growing up in difficult life circumstances across Aberdeen City and Shire.

Businesses also have the opportunity to sponsor a hole on the course, their branding appearing on one of the 18 holes for all players to view. In addition, there is a Birdie sponsorship package that includes more promotional opportunities. To request more information about these packages please email [email protected].

The event will be held at Newmachar Golf Club on Friday 18th August at 9.30am, a team of four costs £550, including morning rolls, hot drink, dram on the 18th and a 2-course carvery.
