Amidst pandemic-induced recruitment challenges, Home Instead took bold steps to address the shortage of care professionals. The British Recruitment Awards was impressed by Home Instead’s recruitment campaign, which highlighted care as a valuable career route for aspiring professionals. The campaign highlighted the importance of care while also addressing the stigma surrounding financial stability.

The launch of their impactful #MenCanCare campaign, combined with the promotion of guaranteed income and salaried contracts, resulted in a remarkable increase in applicants. Over the past six months, an impressive 20% of their newly recruited care staff were male, doubling from only 10% in the 6 months prior.

Under the leadership of Fiona Lauder, the company established an internal recruitment team, which rapidly expanded from three to seven members. Home Instead saw a significant improvement in its recruitment and retention rates with applications increasing by 62%, whilst employee turnover reduced by 36%.

Suhail Rehman, owner of Home Instead Aberdeen, commented: “The incredible results from our recruitment campaign has helped us to address the increasing demand of home care. Our creative approach has proven incredibly successful, attracting passionate care professionals who deeply value the support and care we provide to older adults.”

“We’re honoured to be nominated for The British Recruitment Awards. We are proud to have built such an excellent team and we look forward to carrying on making a difference in the care sector.”

Fiona Lauder commented: “I am delighted to be shortlisted for the Leader of the Year Award. Together we have achieved so much through our recruitment campaign, and I look forward to the future at Home Instead with our dedicated team.”

The British Recruitment Awards takes place on Wednesday 8th November at Salsa! In Temple Place, London.
