ABERDEEN-headquartered IT company, IT Hotdesk is set to hold a free ‘hybrid working’ webinar next week, in response to a recent rise in cyber-attacks.

Since April 2020, the number of people within the UK working from home has risen by 43%, which has resulted in the number of cloud-based cyber attacks rising by 630%.

Concerned by these figures, managing director Gordon Christie and cyber architect AJ Johnstone have designed a webinar that will educate businesses on potential threats, cutting out any jargon and providing straightforward advice.

Gordon said: “Hybrid working is one of the biggest predicted trends for 2021. As restrictions begin to ease, we will see people returning to their office to work, but not full time.

“It is predicted that flexible working, where people split their time between the office and their home, will now be the new normal.

“We’ve already noticed a massive increase in cyber-attacks due to people working from home, and as staff begins to split their time between multiple locations, this will only get worse.”

The event, which is part of Scotland Cyber Week, will stream live online on Thursday 25th February from 10 am – 11 am.
