Seamus Logan MP is highlighting a free dementia clinic being held at Nationwide’s Peterhead branch on Tuesday 21 October.

As part of their wider commitments on social impact, Nationwide has partnered with Dementia UK to provide access to a dementia specialist Admiral Nurse at the Peterhead branch, who will be offering 45-minute appointments in a private space on the premises with expert advice and support to anyone affected by dementia, regardless of who they bank with.

This initiative is part of the bank’s ‘Nationwide Fairer Futures’, a three-year programme designed to tackle key societal challenges and support those facing unfair barriers. These free face-to-face dementia clinics take place in 200 Nationwide branches across the UK.

Commenting on this clinic, Seamus Logan said:

This is an important initiative by Nationwide and I encourage local constituents who are affected by dementia to make an appointment and take advantage of this unique service if they have concerns or questions relating to their finances or diagnosis.

Appointments are open to all, no matter who they bank with and includes family members and those caring for loves ones with dementia as well as patients themselves.

“Forty-five minutes of confidential, specialist and free support is an utterly invaluable service and I applaud Nationwide for this inclusive initiative in the real sense of the word. It’s so vital that those affected by dementia have the support they need, with these clinics providing practical and emotional advice on topics such as financial and legal issues, understanding the diagnosis and how it progresses, and transitioning to residential care. I’m delighted that the Peterhead branch has been chosen to be part of Nationwide’s Fairer Futures programme – appointments can be made in the branch or online.”
