A local opticians has strengthened its in-store team with the appointment of a new dispensing optician, Chau-Lin Ho.
With seventeen years working in ophthalmic dispensing, Chau-Lin brings a wealth of experience to the Specsavers Stonehaven team, with her last role as a dispensing optician at the nearby Specsavers Aberdeen store.
Following her completion of a BA (Hons) degree in tourism and hospitality management, Chau-Lin decided to embark on a new career, joining the Specsavers Aberdeen team as an optical assistant. However, she quickly discovered a passion for optics, and she was fortunate enough to obtain sponsorship from the store, allowing her to study ophthalmic dispensing for a FBDO qualification across three years whilst working full-time.
She is most interested in the problem-solving aspect of ophthalmic dispensing, such as cases where customers may experience vision issues and since it’s not a common cause, she has to find a suitable solution. Being able to give customers that solution so they can get back to normal life is the most rewarding part of her work.
One of the many highlights of her role is being able to help others, both customers and colleagues, and getting to work with those of all ages and backgrounds.
Chau-Lin says: ‘It’s truly a pleasure to become the new dispensing optician at Specsavers Stonehaven. We have a brilliant team, and I’m so proud to be a part of it.
