SNP Westminster spokesperson for Rural Affairs and Aberdeenshire North and Moray East MP Seamus Logan met with NFUS President Andrew Connon, North-east Regional Vice-Chair Mike Davies and NFUS office-bearers on the opening day of Turriff Show yesterday (Sunday 2 Aug).
As well as meeting with the NFUS, the show, which is the biggest in the North of Scotland and the biggest two-day agricultural show, afforded the opportunity for Mr Logan to engage with QMS, Scottish Land and Estates, local businesses and a wide range of individuals.

“It was good to be able to have a sit-down with NFUS President Andrew Connon and his local team, as well as QMS, SLE and a range of other businesses present at the show.
“There were some common themes throughout these discussions – concerns about the potential for the EU ban on Brazilian beef to have an impact here for example – and I will be taking these issues forward with Ministers at UK level.
“Aside from a brief shower, Turriff Show was blessed with good weather, in marked contrast to last year which led to the show closing early. There seems to be a strong attendance judging by the crowds and I wish the organisers well for a successful event.”
